The Forge is an innovative workspace, located in New Bremen, Ohio, for Crown Equipment employees to create and collaborate. The Crown Design team wanted to create a brand identity for the space and asked me to conceptualize a logo design. My goal was to create a wordmark that not only identified, but represented the meaning of the space. Design has been around for centuries, yet it continues to grow and evolve with modern technology. My final concept combined both primitive and modern design elements. The anvil was used as a forging tool in medieval times, while the circuit board pattern represents the advances in technology over the centuries.
